13-Day Grand Vietnam with Sapa Exploration

In the morning, you'll leave busy Ho Chi Minh City and head to My Tho, a serene town in the Mekong Delta. There, you'll explore a lively fruit market and then hop on a boat to cruise along the peaceful riverside villages. You'll also learn how to make coconut candy and take a ride through the countryside on a local horse-drawn cart or tuk-tuk. After a peaceful rowboat ride along the palm-lined canals, you'll enjoy a delicious lunch by the river.

In the afternoon, you'll visit the unique Vinh Trang Pagoda, which blends Asian and European architecture. Then, you'll take a 2.5-hour drive to Can Tho. Once you arrive, you'll check into your hotel and have the rest of the day to relax and explore at your own pace.

At around 6:30 a.m., head to the bustling Cai Rang floating market, the largest in the Mekong Delta. Hop on a smaller boat to navigate through the maze of boats loaded with fruits, veggies, and fish, witnessing the vibrant trading scene up close. You can even try your hand at bargaining! Afterward, visit an orchard garden and a traditional rice noodle factory to learn about local life.

Then, it's back to Ho Chi Minh City, about a 3-hour drive, for your flight to Da Nang. Once you land, your guide will meet you and arrange a private transfer to your hotel in Hoi An. Enjoy the rest of the day exploring at your own pace.

Today, dive into Hoi An's history as a bustling trading port. Explore iconic spots like the Japanese Bridge, the Chinese Temple, and old merchant houses. Then, get creative at a local artisan's home and make your own fold-away lantern, a symbol of luck and happiness. Afterward, enjoy free time to relax or explore further, perhaps wandering the quaint streets or sampling local cuisine.

Start your day by exploring the ancient My Son Holy Land, which dates back to the 4th to 5th centuries and offers insights into the Cham Pa Kingdom's culture and history. After lunch, head back to Da Nang Airport for your flight to Hanoi.

When you arrive in Hanoi, your guide will be there to take you to your hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to relax in your room or take a leisurely walk around the beautiful Hoan Kiem Lake nearby.

Start your day with a tasty breakfast at the hotel, or try out the famous Vietnamese dish called Pho, which is a flavorful rice noodle soup. Then, your guide will take you to see the main sights of the city, like the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Ho Chi Minh's Stilt House, the One Pillar Pagoda, and the Museum of Ethnology. 

After this, you'll have some free time to relax before joining a fun street food tour in the lively Old Quarter. Follow your guide through the bustling streets as you taste local treats like grilled fish and sip on Hanoi's special egg coffee while learning all about Vietnamese food culture.

Explore Sapa, a unique destination surrounded by stunning landscapes, including towering gorges and terraced rice fields. Your journey begins with a 5-hour private transfer from Hanoi. Along the way, stop at Ta Giang Phinh village to learn about the culture of the Black Hmong people. Once in Sapa town, check into your hotel and take some time to wander and discover the area on your own.

After breakfast, your guide will meet you at your hotel for a full-day trekking adventure in Sapa. Explore picturesque trails that wind through rivers, waterfalls, and valleys, offering breathtaking views of terraced rice fields. Along the way, encounter the diverse cultures of the Hmong, Dao, Tay, Giay, and Yi ethnic minorities. After your trek, return to your hotel via private transfer and relax.

Start your day with a relaxed breakfast before heading to Halong Bay for an exciting adventure! The journey from Hanoi to Hon Gai Pier will take about 3.5 hours. Once there, you'll board a cruise ship and sail through the breathtaking limestone islets that dot the bay's emerald waters. There are plenty of fun things to do onboard, like kayaking, taking a cooking class, or trying your hand at squid fishing. Whatever you choose, enjoy every moment of your Halong Bay experience!

Rise early to catch the breathtaking sunrise and join a Tai Chi session on the deck. After a light breakfast, explore the beautiful Thien Canh Son Cave with its stunning rock formations. Return to the boat for brunch and then head back to Hanoi as your Halong Bay cruise concludes. Enjoy your last night in Vietnam!
