Day 1Arrive in Negombo

Welcome to Sri Lanka! When you arrive, a friendly guide will meet you and take you to Negombo, a calm town on the west coast. It only takes around 20 minutes to reach your hotel. Once you're checked in, you can enjoy the rest of the day however you like.

Day 2Explore Negombo

Negombo boasts a vibrant fishing industry and is renowned for hosting Sri Lanka's second-largest fish market.

Today, you have the opportunity to explore Negombo at your own pace. Rise early to witness the bustling activity at the fish market, or opt for a tranquil 1.5-hour bird-watching excursion on the Muthurajawela Marsh, gliding through its serene waters on a boat.

In the afternoon, we'll journey to the historic city of Anuradhapura, where ancient ruins sprawl across a vast area. The drive from Negombo to Sigiriya takes approximately 5 hours, with the option to pause for a brief rest along the way. Upon reaching Sigiriya, check in to your hotel and unwind for the remainder of the day.

Day 3Visit Anuradhapura

Anuradhapura holds the prestigious title of a UNESCO World Heritage City. Today, we'll explore its rich historical sites, soaking in the ancient charm of this sacred place. Later, we'll journey to Mihintale, a majestic mountain peak overlooking Anuradhapura. From there, marvel at the breathtaking vistas of the Maha Stupa and Aradhana Gala.

Following our cultural immersion, we'll take a scenic drive of about 2 hours to reach Sigiriya, our next destination.

Day 4Have an excursion to Polonnaruwa

Today, we'll venture to the royal ancient city of Polonnaruwa, a captivating journey that unfolds over about 2 hours by car from Sigiriya. Polonnaruwa boasts a rich tapestry of temples and religious edifices, offering a glimpse into its glorious past. As we stroll through the labyrinthine streets and marvel at the myriad structures, let your imagination transport you to bygone eras of grandeur. After our enlightening tour, we'll return to Sigiriya, our base for further exploration and relaxation.

Day 5Explore Sigiriya

Today, we'll venture close to the majestic Lion Rock, also known as Sigiriya Rock Fortress, an iconic landmark of Sri Lanka. Before approaching its entrance, take a moment to admire the breathtaking view from afar. As you ascend towards the summit, marvel at the renowned Sigiriya damsels frescoes adorning the rock face. Explore the ancient ruins of the palace and the intricate fortifications, surrounded by expansive gardens, tranquil ponds, winding canals, and serene fountains.

In the afternoon, we'll embark on a rural tour of the charming village of Hiriwadunna. Hop aboard a jeep or a tuk-tuk for a delightful journey through the picturesque Sri Lankan countryside. Glide across a serene lake on a traditional catamaran, where you may encounter a variety of birds, fluttering butterflies, and local villagers engaged in fishing or washing clothes along the lakeshore.

Day 6Sigiriya to Kandy

Today's adventure begins with a trip to the magnificent Dambulla Cave Temple, home to five caves and an astonishing 157 statues of Lord Buddha.

Later in the day, we'll journey for 3.5 hours to Kandy. Upon arrival, immerse yourself in the vibrant culture with a captivating Kandyan cultural dance performance. Afterward, take a leisurely stroll to the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, where you'll discover the revered tooth of the Buddha.

Day 7Visit Kandy

After enjoying a hearty breakfast, we'll make our way to the Royal Botanical Garden in Peradeniya, located just outside the bustling city of Kandy. This beautiful garden is renowned for its vast collection of tropical plants, boasting approximately 4,000 species.

In the afternoon, you have the option to explore the lively downtown market or take a leisurely stroll around scenic Kandy Lake. Later on, we'll hop in a vehicle and journey to Colombo city, which will take approximately 3.5 hours. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and unwind. The remainder of the day is yours to enjoy at your own pace.

Day 8Departure from Colombo

Today, we'll explore the vibrant city of Colombo on a highlights tour, visiting iconic landmarks such as Independence Square, the picturesque Gangarama Temple, the scenic Galle Face Green, and the fascinating Colombo National Museum. You'll also get to see the former British Administrative Center and other notable sites. Don't forget your camera - we'll make stops along the way for you to capture memorable photos at any site you wish.

In the afternoon, it's time to bid farewell to Sri Lanka as we escort you to the airport for your flight back home.
