Today's journey takes us approximately 260km to the breathtaking Queenstown, nestled on the northern shore of Lake Wakatipu. Along the way, we'll make a pit stop at the stunning Lake Wānaka, renowned for its thrilling water activities like jet boating, sailing, and kayaking.

Today is yours to enjoy as you please: test your courage with the Kawarau Bridge Bungy, indulge in the flavors of local wineries and restaurants, embark on a relaxing boat cruise on Lake Wakatipu surrounded by the stunning Southern Alps, or treat yourself to a soothing soak in a natural hot spring.
Over countless years, the powerful glaciers of the Southern Alps shaped the eastern coast of the Tasman Sea, creating the magnificent Milford Sound as we know it today. As we cruise along the sound, marvel at the towering rock faces reaching heights of 1,517 meters, witness waterfalls cascading down from great heights, and spot the fascinating marine life that calls this place home.
Heading further south today, our first stop is Invercargill, the southernmost city of New Zealand. Here, you can enjoy leisurely strolls along tree-lined pathways or explore the beautiful gardens of Queen's Park.
Just a short drive from Invercargill lies the fishing port of Bluff, where you can savor the renowned Bluff oysters at Oyster Cove Café. For bird enthusiasts, a ferry ride across the Foveaux Strait to Stewart Island offers the opportunity to explore a haven for native birdlife.
As the afternoon wanes, we'll make our way northeast to Dunedin, about 200km away, where we'll spend the night.

Amidst the impressive spires of Gothic churches and elegant homes, this delightful city nestled around a natural harbor boasts rich biodiversity.

Upon reaching Oamaru, indulge in guided tours showcasing the craftsmanship behind the award-winning Whitestone Cheese, a local specialty. And as the sun sets, head to a specially constructed viewing point to catch a glimpse of adorable penguins waddling along the shores of Oamaru Harbor.
Today, we're heading towards Akaroa, located around 300km from Oamaru and just 80km from Christchurch. Known as New Zealand's most French-inspired town, Akaroa offers a delightful blend of history, with its charming buildings, a picturesque harbor, and delectable French cuisine. Explore the quaint streets on foot, admire the charming cottages, and indulge in the iconic New Zealand Fish & Chips.
In the late afternoon, we'll make our way to Christchurch for our overnight stay.
