Day 1Arrive in Ulaanbaatar

Day 2Travel to Hustai National Park

Begin your day with an exploration of Hustai National Park, home to the world's last remaining Przewalski's horses and diverse wildlife, just a 2-3 hours' drive away. Along the way, immerse yourself in the Mongolian nomadic lifestyle at the Mongol Nomadic Tourist Ger Camp, where you'll discover traditional customs and culture. 

After a satisfying lunch, continue your journey into the national park. Learn about its history and conservation efforts at the local information center before starting a wildlife hike through the hills and forests. 

Capture stunning wildlife photographs during the golden evening hour, including sightings of coffee-colored wild horses, red deer, and marmots. Spend the night in a comfortable ger, surrounded by nature's tranquility.

Day 3Explore Hustai National Park and head to Karakorum

If you're keen on wildlife photography, seize the opportunity for another session during the morning's golden hour.

Afterwards, journey to Karakorum, the historic capital of the formidable Mongol Empire in the 13th century. Delve into the remnants of the 16th-century Erdene Zuu Monastery, a testament to Mongolia's rich Buddhist heritage. Explore the Karakorum Museum, home to a remarkable array of artifacts and a detailed model of the ancient capital.

Day 4Visit Ongi River Valley from Karakorum

Set out on a southbound journey today to uncover the remnants of the Ongi Monastery, known locally as Ongiin Khiid, nestled on the banks of the Ongi River amidst the majestic Gobi mountains. 

Wander through the hallowed grounds of the monastery, envisioning its former grandeur, and ensure your camera is ready to capture breathtaking snapshots.

Spend the night in a cozy ger camp, immersed in the tranquil beauty of the Mongolian wilderness.

Day 5Journey to Bayanzag Flaming Cliffs from Ongi River Valley

Proceed with your journey southward, traversing the expansive Ongi steppe until you reach the renowned Bayanzag Flaming Cliffs. Upon settling into your ger camp, take some time to explore the surroundings.

Later, venture out to the iconic flaming cliffs, renowned for their wealth of dinosaur fossils, including the world's first dinosaur eggs. Wander amidst the vibrant red cliffs and stroll through the lush saxaul forest, seizing ample opportunities to capture the wilderness and its distinct natural marvels, particularly as the sun sets in the horizon.

Day 6Explore Khongor Sand Dunes from Bayanzag

Start your day by heading to the Khongor sand dunes, also called Khongoryn Els or Duut Mankhan (singing dunes), Mongolia's grandest and most remarkable sand dune. Once arriving, embrace the opportunity to ride a camel into the dunes to capture the amazing panorama of the sand dunes or go for a relaxing walk through the green oasis at the base. 

If you have more energy, head out in the evening to climb the dunes to the summit of your choice for excellent photographic opportunities. Spend the night in a nearby ger camp.

Day 7Travel to Yolyn Am Valley from Khongor Sand Dunes

Rise with the dawn to witness the sun casting its golden hues over the expansive Gobi expanse. 

Following breakfast, enjoy a scenic 3-hour drive to the captivating Yolyn Am, nestled within the desert landscape of the Gurvan Saikhan National Park. Take a picturesque hike through this verdant valley, keeping an eye out for the indigenous lammergeiers soaring overhead. Experience the remarkable ice formations that grace the valley, remnants of glaciers that endure until mid-July.

Spend another night in the ger camp.

Day 8Yol Valley - Ulaanbaatar - Gorkhi-Terelj National Park

In the morning, depart from the Gobi desert in southern Mongolia and catch a flight back to Ulaanbaatar. From there, start a road transfer lasting approximately 1-2 hours to reach Gorkhi-Terelj National Park. Situated in a serene valley surrounded by granite mountains and the Terelj River, the park offers lush green meadows, imposing rock formations, and a variety of outdoor activities. 

Upon arrival at the ger camp, freshen up before spending the afternoon exploring attractions like Turtle Rock and the Ariyabal meditation temple. 

Additionally, you can opt for activities such as hiking, horseback riding, rock climbing, or bird watching.

Day 9Enjoy Gorkhi-Terelj National Park

Start a short journey back to Ulaanbaatar for an enticing tour of the capital's highlights. Begin your adventure by paying a visit to Gandan Monastery, Mongolia's largest functioning Buddhist temple. 

Afterwards, explore the National Museum for insights into Mongolia's rich history and culture. Take a leisurely stroll around Sukhbaatar Square to visit landmarks such as the Parliament House, National Opera, and City Hall. Don't miss the panoramic views from Zaisan Hill. 

Finally, conclude your unforgettable day with traditional Mongolian dancing and mesmerizing "Khoomei" throat singing performances.
