7-Day Classic Mongolia Tour

After breakfast, set out on a picturesque 5-6 hour drive to the magnificent Elsen Tasarkhai sand dunes, also referred to as Bayan Gobi or Mini Gobi. While there, venture into Hugnu Khaan Mountain to explore this unique area where rocky mountains, forests, steppes, and sand dunes converge. Tonight, experience life like a local as you settle into an accommodating ger for the evening.

Continue your journey today with a scenic 1-2 hour drive to Karakorum, the ancient capital of the Mongol Empire, also known as "Kharkhorin" to the locals. Explore the grand Erdene Zuu monastery, considered the oldest surviving Buddhist monastery in Mongolia. Observe monks as they perform their daily rituals and admire the sweeping views of the endless steppe from the monastery grounds. 

Next, visit the intriguing Karakorum Museum, showcasing artifacts from Mongolian history. Spend the night in a cozy ger camp, surrounded by the tranquility of the Mongolian landscape.

The next part of your journey takes you to Hustai National Park, a 5-6 hour drive away, renowned as the natural habitat of the rare and endangered Przewalski's horses. Before entering the park, visit a local center for detailed information about the world's last truly wild horse species and other significant wildlife in the area. 

Embark on a hike through pristine wilderness to explore its natural beauty and spot wildlife such as red deer, eagles, and, of course, wild horses. 

Relax in the evening with the possible horseback riding and enjoy another night of camping beneath the twinkling stars.

In the morning, leave Hustai National Park and enjoy a scenic 2-3 hour road trip back to Ulaanbaatar.

In the afternoon, explore the Winter Palace of the Bogd Khan, now a museum showcasing fascinating relics, art collections, and regalia. Spend the rest of the day shopping or exploring the city at your leisure.

Your Mongolian journey concludes today. Following breakfast, you'll be transferred to the airport for your return flight home.
