Welcome to Yogyakarta! When you arrive, a local guide will greet you and take you to your hotel. You'll have the rest of the day to relax and explore on your own.
Your adventure in Yogyakarta begins at Kraton, where the Sultan lives and traditional Javanese guards stand watch. Next, visit Taman Sari Water Castle, once a bathing place for princesses and a hunting ground for the Sultan's potential wives. Then, head to Kota Gede, known for its silver industry since the 1930s.
Your journey continues to Borobudur Temple Compound, a massive Buddhist monument from the 9th century, covering 2500 square meters. On your way back to Yogyakarta, you'll see Pawon Temple and Mendut Temple, aligned with Borobudur.
Your final stop in Yogyakarta is Prambanan Temple, built in the 9th century to mark the return of Hinduism to Java after Buddhism's dominance. Afterward, you'll fly to Denpasar. Upon arrival, you'll be met and taken to your hotel in Ubud.
Ubud is the heart of Bali's culture. Begin your Ubud adventure at Goa Gajah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with ancient relics dating back to the 11th century. Next, visit Tirta Empul, one of Indonesia's largest water temples dedicated to Vishnu, the Hindu God of Water. Experience the cleansing ritual in the holy spring, a highlight of your visit.
Then, journey to Besakih Temple, known as the Mother Temple of Bali, nestled on the slopes of the island's highest volcano. Despite surviving a devastating eruption in 1963, it offers breathtaking views of Mount & Lake Batur.
