Welcome to Iceland, the Land of Fire and Ice!
Begin your adventure with a warm welcome from your driving guide at Keflavik Airport. After just a 15-minute drive, immerse yourself in the soothing waters of the Blue Lagoon, a perfect start to your Iceland vacation. Relax and unwind in the hot springs, complete with a facial mask, ideal after a long flight. After your tranquil soak, journey to your Reykjavík hotel for a restful night's sleep.
Set off for the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, celebrated as a quintessential representation of Iceland's varied terrain. Take a stroll along the coastline from Arnarstapi, marveling at the lava formations. Be sure not to overlook Gatklettur, a naturally sculpted circular stone arch along the shore. Next, head to the Lóndrangar basalt cliffs, renowned for their rich birdlife, followed by Djúpalónssandur, a bay with striking arched cliffs and black sand. Conclude the day with a picturesque photoshoot at Kirkjufell, where a small waterfall cascades gracefully in the foreground.
Today, you'll explore the renowned Golden Circle, a must-see in Iceland. Your first stop is Thingvellir National Park, where you'll discover the historic Althing, one of the world's oldest parliaments, and the meeting point of the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates. Then, marvel at Gullfoss, a breathtaking waterfall with two cascades. In the Geysir area, you'll wander among bubbling hot springs and witness the impressive Strokkur geyser shooting boiling water up to 40 meters high every few minutes. After the tour, head to your hotel in Selfoss to unwind.
Head to Hnappavellir via the South Coast today.
During the journey, we'll stop to admire the captivating Seljalandsfoss waterfall, where you can walk behind the curtain of water. Nearby, we'll also visit the stunning Skogafoss waterfall, known for its rainbows on sunny days. Afterward, we'll take a break and have lunch in the small village of Vik. Then, we'll explore the Reynisfjara Black Beach behind the village, famous for its towering basalt stacks and roaring waves.
Finally, we'll check into the hotel and rest upon arrival.
Our focus today is on Jökulsárlón, a stunning glacier lagoon along Iceland's South Coast. From May to October, we'll enjoy a hike in Skaftafell, a section of Vatnajökull National Park, followed by a 45-minute boat cruise on Jökulsárlón Lagoon to see the massive icebergs up close. In winter (Nov - Apr), we'll embark on a 3.5-hour exploration of an ice cave, equipped with safety gear to discover the enchanting world within. Finally, we'll visit Diamond Beach, where shimmering ice pieces adorn the black sand, before heading back to Vík for the night.
After breakfast, we'll head to the Dyrhólaey Arch on Iceland's south coast, near Reynisfjara, where you can enjoy breathtaking views of black sand beaches and spot puffins and other seabirds.
Later, we'll return to Reykjavík for a brief city tour lasting about 3 hours. You'll have the chance to see iconic landmarks like the Hallgrímur Church, shaped like an organ, the Hofdi House (no entry), the Perlan (entrance tickets not included), and the Harpa Concert Hall.
Take some time to relax at the hotel or explore Reykjavík on your own. Your driving guide will pick you up at the scheduled time and take you to the airport. Board your flight back home with fond memories.
