8-Day Nordic exploration through Norway and Iceland (May - Sep)

Immerse yourself in the beauty of the Norwegian fjords today with a combination of train, bus, and boat journeys.

Start your day by heading to Bergen Central Station to catch the early Bergensbanen train to Voss. From there, hop on a bus to Gudvangen, navigating the steep twists and turns of the Stahlheim Skreva Road. Next, enjoy a scenic 2-hour cruise to Flam, where you'll be captivated by the breathtaking landscape of the narrow Naroyfjord, adorned with cascading waterfalls and quaint farms.

Upon arrival in Flam around 2:00 pm, the rest of the day is yours to spend as you please. Outdoor enthusiasts may opt for a kayaking excursion to immerse themselves in the serene natural surroundings, while others may prefer to drive to the Stegastein Viewpoint for a different perspective of the fjords. Let your consultant know which activity you prefer.

Take a ride on the renowned Flam Railway to the Myrdal Station around 8:50 am. This scenic train journey lasts about an hour, ascending from sea level to the snow-capped peak of Myrdal at 866 meters, offering stunning views of Western Norway's beauty. Afterward, transfer to the Bergensbanen train and continue your journey to Oslo, passing by charming communities and natural landscapes along the route.

Upon reaching Oslo around 3:00 pm, make your way to the hotel independently and unwind.

Before your driver arrives to take you to Oslo-Gardermoen Airport, enjoy the morning at your own pace. Bid Norway farewell and catch a flight to Iceland.

Upon landing at Keflavik International Airport, a private transfer will take you to your hotel in Reykjavik. If you'd like, there are plenty of optional activities to choose from for the rest of the day, such as visiting the Wonders of Iceland exhibition in Perlan, watching puffins, or taking a helicopter sightseeing tour.

Iceland's famous Golden Circle is a must-see attraction. Along the route, you'll encounter the UNESCO-listed Thingvellir National Park, the Geysir geothermal area, and the stunning Gullfoss waterfall.

Learn about the history behind this area, believed to be the birthplace of the Icelandic nation, as you hike through the gorge where two tectonic plates meet. Marvel at the active Strokkur geyser in the Geysir area, shooting water up to 10-20 meters high every few minutes, sometimes reaching heights of 40 meters. Experience the majestic roar of Gullfoss waterfall up close and feel its power as it plunges into the narrow canyon.

Experience another exciting day in Iceland with an adventure to the South Coast, known for its abundance of natural wonders like waterfalls, volcanoes, glaciers, and black sand beaches.

Traveling south on the No. 1 Ring Road, take a moment to admire the breathtaking Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss waterfalls. You can also explore the nearby Skogar Folk Museum for a fee at the entrance, where you can learn about Icelandic life in past centuries.

Continuing onward to the village of Vik, stroll along the black sand beaches formed by volcanic ash from past eruptions, and marvel at the towering columns of Reynisdrangar. After a full day of sightseeing, return to Reykjavik for the night.

On your last day, conclude with a relaxing visit to the Blue Lagoon. Enjoy a leisurely soak in the warm waters, easing any tension in your muscles and soothing your spirit before your journey back home.
