Today, we'll visit remote villages around Tonle Sap, giving you chances to connect with locals. First, we'll take a boat trip to Chhnok Tru village, where everything, from gas stations to monasteries, floats on the river. Explore their unique ice factory.
After lunch, we'll continue to Kampong Chhnang, known for its local craftsmanship. Meet traditional potters and palm-sugar producers, and see them using ancient techniques dating back to the 6th century.
As your cruise ship arrives in Phnom Penh this morning, hop on a motorized tuk-tuk to explore the city's main attractions. Begin with a visit to the Royal Palace and the Silver Pagoda. Then, head to the National Museum of Cambodia, home to the world's largest collection of Khmer craftsmanship.
Optionally, you can visit the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum or explore the lively Russian Market for souvenirs. Afterward, transfer to your hotel to check-in and relax for the rest of the day.
Start with a relaxed morning before heading to Wat Phnom, a Buddhist temple on top of a 27-meter-high man-made hill. Climb up the steps for a nice view of the city and join locals in prayer for good fortune. Afterward, walk around Central Market where you can shop and see how locals live.
Finish your day with a traditional Cambodian dance performance by the Cambodian Living Arts organization.
